Connor Vlakancic, 20 years of US Federal political experience in Capital Hill, Washington, DC advocating pragmatic legislative initiatives as US Representative candidate from California
Illinois stands at a pivotal hour. The 18th Congressional District—once a stronghold of Midwestern values and common-sense governance—has become a symbol of political collapse, waste, and disenchantment. Following the resignation of its previous representative, taxpayers now face the burden of a special election. The people’s trust is fractured. The state’s future is uncertain
Connor Vlakancic enters this race not as a career politician, but as a citizen statesman—a modern-day Lincoln for modern-day Illinois. Born in Aurora, raised in the fields of DeKalb County, and trained by experience across the globe, Connor carries with him the spirit of Illinois’ prairie roots and the progressive promise of our republic.
In an era where loud voices dominate and real solutions are few, Connor brings clarity, courage, and conviction. His mission is simple: Restore public trust. Defend taxpayers. Represent every citizen with dignity.
Born in Aurora, Illinois and raised on the farmlands of DeKalb County, Connor’s character was forged by the same prairie values that shaped Abraham Lincoln: honesty, hard work, and unshakable civic duty.
Connor earned an Engineering Science Degree in Electronic Systems, launching a successful career in Silicon Valley. His path led him through leadership roles in technology innovation, marketing strategy, and international trade.
As founder of 5STAR Group International, Inc., Connor built bridges between American markets and Croatia, promoting global partnerships in agriculture and food products—without ever losing sight of his Illinois heritage.
Connor is no stranger to the political arena. He has participated in U.S. Federal and California State politics, always on the side of transparency, term limits, citizen engagement, and reducing partisan strangleholds.
He helped organize Government Reform Hackathons, empowering citizens and technologists to craft legislative innovations and hold government accountable.
Connor is not beholden to any party or political machine. He is running to give a voice to every voter who feels left behind, overtaxed, or unheard.
As a digital-age advocate, Connor will fight to preserve freedom of speech, data privacy, and the constitutional rights of every citizen in the age of surveillance and censorship.
No more reckless spending. No more political bailouts. Connor will work to ensure every taxpayer dollar is accounted for, and every federal program delivers real value.
From crumbling roads to rural broadband, Illinois must modernize. Connor's background in technology makes him uniquely equipped to lead in 21st-century problem solving.
Inspired by Lincoln’s vision of servant leadership, Connor advocates for term limits, strict lobbying controls, and campaign finance reform to stop corruption at the source.
Our heroes and heartland towns are too often forgotten. Connor will ensure veterans, farmers, and small-town businesses are given priority in policy—not just promises during election season.
Founded in 1837 but rooted in a deeper history, Bureau County is where fertile lands and strong traditions continue to thrive. Connor pledges to uphold the agricultural strength and community values that built this county.
Named for Johann de Kalb, Revolutionary War patriot, this 632-square-mile county shaped Connor’s early years. He carries DeKalb’s legacy of courage and service in every step of his campaign
A county where responsibility and safety matter—especially for pets, families, and local law enforcement. Connor supports community-focused governance that meets everyday needs.
From frontier forts to modern-day trade, LaSalle has long defended and connected our people. Connor aims to revitalize infrastructure and protect this historical economic artery.
Home of Illinois’ oldest courthouse still in use, Putnam is a living monument to justice and public trust—two ideals Connor will fight to restore in Congress.
Now a major hub of global commerce, Will County remains deeply tied to its agricultural roots. Connor believes that growth and quality of life must rise together, not in competition.
